This Christmas, please bring me a Parrot MiniDrone Jumping Sumo just arrived at Global Gadgets showroom in New Delhi’s Khan Market.

This MiniDrone is much more than toy as it is controlled by a Smartphone or a tablet, clicks photos and shoots videos of all it sees. It can also jump over furniture, climb walls, crawl of the roof and can even fly! So it’s great fun, not only for kids but for kids of all ages!

Jumping Sumo reveals its cheeky and mischievous personality through the flashing LED lights and sounds. Jumping Sumo is quite a fun loaded little robot cum drone.

Jumping Sumo offers two different experiences with its adjustable wheels. Depending on my level of my experience, I can choose stability (wheels extended) or speed (wheels retracted). The sturdy, shock-proof design lets it jump, roll, spin, and explore without stopping. Plus, Jumping Sumo always lands on its wheels.

Jumping Sumo is controlled via Parrot's FreeFlight 3 mobile app available for iOS and Android devices. It connects over Wi-Fi rather than Bluetooth, meaning it has a much greater range of 50 m (165 feet). Jumping Sumo has a top speed of 7 km/h (4.5 mph), with a slider on the left of screen to control acceleration and braking. This smartphone-controlled drone has a spring-loaded tail, and connects not via Bluetooth but by Wi-Fi, creating its own Wi-Fi network to which you connect your smartphone or tablet.

So at this stage, you might be thinking that the Jumping Sumo is nothing more than a glorified remote control car. And you'd probably be right, if not for a front-facing video camera that streams all the action to the screen of your mobile/tablet. While the quality isn't great, with video taken at 640 x 480 pixels and 15 fps, it will show you the world through the eyes of a miniaturized rolling robot. There are also a number of tricks that the Jumping Sumo can perform, such as spins, jumps and spinning jumps.

 

  

The Parrot MiniDrone Jumping Sumo is a fun, two-wheeled rover with a camera that streams a first-person ground-level view. As you pilot it from your Smartphone/tablet, you will hear shrieks of joy, surprise and wonder from everyone around you.
